About Me
I qualified in 1980 having obtained a 2(1) Degree in Law at King’s College, London University. I qualified in law to help people. From my first day I have been an advocate through and through and dealt with some interesting cases over the years. I found applying the law learnt over the past 30 years to practical situations and enhancing my health and safety knowledge a useful asset and tool for cross examination particularly of prosecution witnesses. With an emphasis on caring for my clients I have now added will drafting to my practice.

Over the years I have developed a 6th sense that helps my clients when dealing with difficult situations in a Court of Law. You really do have to think on your feet
Knowing you as an individual, understanding your business worries and how I can help are the key elements I bring to the table when dealing with your legal affairs.
I am a Solicitor- Advocate able to represent clients in the Magistrates and Crown Court. I have extensive experience, dealing with authorities and courts and representing clients throughout the country .
I win my cases on a simple philosophy – “Preparation, Preparation, Preparation” From the start of the case, whether it be interview with one of the authorities or taking instructions, a clear plan of action is put together to provide the best chance of success. In a memorable case a few years ago I represented a High Street trader, took on and defeated a mighty corporation represented by a leading QC in the Crown Court.
No job is too small. Mentioned in the Legal 500 as a leading licensing lawyer, I continue to attract new and repeat business. Recent new clients include the Shaftesbury Group of Hotels in Mayfair, the owners of Bewl Bridge Reservoir and the financial backers to the celebrity chef, Richard Phillips. Notable successes include the licensing of the Hop Farm in Kent for a 50,000 person music festival and obtaining a late licence for Gillingham Football Club in the heart of a residential area. I continue to act for a number of pub and restaurant chains, historic houses and individual licensees. An understanding of the drinks industry has assisted many making their applications or successfully contesting review of licences.
This coupled with substantial experience dealing with road traffic cases provides a useful insight into drink drive offences. I have the reputation of never giving up on my clients – you have a "gutsy" fighter on your side determined to deliver a good result.
I have both defended and prosecuted an extensive range of Health and Safety and Road Haulage cases and have an up-to-date working knowledge of the relevant laws and the many subsidiary regulations. Advice and representation in court is characterized by a down to earth approach to the issues.
Applying the law learnt over the past 30 years to practical situations has enhanced my health and safety knowledge at a practical level and is a useful tool in cross examination. I have now been accredited MBII.tp as a professional trainer of the courses run by the BII. . Click here to contact me.
